Getting a job as a probationary officer in any public bank has never been an easier task. One has to qualify its entrance test i.e. IBPS exam. Earlier, every nationalized bank used to conduct their own entrance exam but in the year 2011 IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Section) has made it compulsory for all 19 major public banks to conduct the national level eligibility exam for selection to these banks. 
BANK PO exam is conducted every year for those candidates who wish to get jobs in the posts of Probationary Officer and Clerical Post (Clerk).

If you’re going with the online application, then make sure that you have duly scanned your photograph and signature. The reason for this; the online application form should be filled within 20 minutes.
 
The Application fees can be submitted in both, online as well as offline mode. Online payment can be made by using credit cards or debit cards. Now, if you’re going with offline mode then, you have to fill the IBPS application form. After this, you have to click on ‘Offline’ button that lies at the end of the form. Once you click on the button, then IBPS will register your application for the exam and will provide you login credentials, consisting of a unique password and registration number. Next, you to make the print out of computer generated challan. The Challan is required to take into any IBPS designated center, where it will get sealed by the authority against the cash payment.
 
Application Fees for General category is Rs 450, whereas for other reserved categories like SC/ST and PH is Rs. 50.
 

Bank PO Syllabus

There is no set syllabus for the exam but questions will be asked various common subjects such as Reasoning, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness (with Special focus on Banking Industry), Computer Knowledge. The test will also include Basic English i.e. reading comprehension, verbal ability and verbal reasoning. 

 

Paper Pattern

CWE for IBPS PO consist of objective type questions, where candidate has to select the correct answer of four options.  There will be total 250 questions with a total duration of  2½ hrs. For each wrong answer, 1/4th will be deducted from the marks allotted to the question.
