Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is an independent department of Science and Industry of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Government of India. Regarded as the best scientific, industrial and R&D organization with laboratories spread all over India the organization encounters a considerable need of adminstrative personnel. CSIR CASE exam is conducted for recruitment of eligible candidates for combined adminsitrative services. This is an all India examination for which graduation in the required eligibility criteria. Candidates who are selected on the basis of performance in written test and interview are posted as Assistants in grade I in specified disciplines.
Posts for which CSIR CASE exam is conducted is as follows
Assistant (GENERAL) Grade I
Assistant (FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS) Grade I
Assistant (STORE AND PURCHASE) Grade I
Minimum educational qualification: Bachelors degree of recognized university in any discipline.
Age Limit: The age limit for candidates is 28 years as on the last date of form submission.
Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by
- 05 years for SC/ST candidates
- 03 years for OBC candidates
- 05 for PH/Ex-servicemen
Procedure of selection: Procedure of selection consists of written examination and interview.
CSIR CASE Registration / Application Form
How to apply for CSIR CASE: Aspirants are required to apply online on CSIR website www.csir.res.in. Please follow the instructions for online application carefully. No other form of application is accepted. Candidates are also required to upload recent passport sized coloredphotograph in the space provided in the online application form. The photograph should be clear and should not exceed 100 KB. Applications without photograph are considered incomplete and would not be accepted. There is no need to send the hardcopy of CSIR CASE online application form to CSIR. However candidates are advised to keep printout of the same for future reference.
CSIR CASE 2016 Syllabus:-
Section A (GENERAL INTELLIGENCE AND GENERAL AWARNESS): 100 Marks (Total)
• General Intelligence and Reasoning: 20 marks
• Quantitative ability (Arithmetic): 20 marks
• Constitution of India: 20 marks
• General Awarness ( General Science, Scientific Research, Geography, Economics, General Polity, Current events): 40 marks
Section B (LANGUAGE AND COMPREHENSION)= 50 Marks (Total)
•Comprehension (one passage of hindi and english of 10 marks each): 20 marks
• The total marks for the following sub section is 30 sections

Prepositions and fill in the blanks
Synoynms and Antonyms
Sentence correction and common errors
Punctuations, idioms and pharses etc.
Paper II (Total= 150 marks)
•Fundamental Rules (FR's) and Supplimentary Rules (SR's): 25 marks
•CCC (Conduct) Rules 1984
• General Financial Rules (GFR's)- 2005:10 marks
•Manual of office procedure: 15 marks
• Management Principles and Practises: 40 marks
• ERP application and operations management: 25 marks
• Public adminstration (including RTI): 25 marks
Paper Pattern
CSIR CASE 2016 Paper Pattern: Paper Pattern consists of two papers ie Paper I and Paper II
•Paper I is divided into two sections
Section A (General Intelligence and General Awarness)
This section consists of 100 objective type questions of one mark each with negative marking of 0.25 marks for a wrong answer
Section B (Language and Comprehension)
This section consists of 50 objective type questions of one mark each with negative marking of 0.25 marks for a wrong answer.
The total marks for Paper I is 150 and is to attempted in two hours and 30 minutes.
