Himachal Pradesh Technical University conducts Common Entrance Test (HPCET) for admission to B.Tech./B.Pharmacy/ B.Pharmacy (Ayurveda),M.Tech, M.Pharmacy, MCA and MBA being offered by HimTU and colleges affiliated to it, deemed to be University, orother Universities established under the State Act or Constituent units thereto.
HPCET 2020 Eligibility Criteria:-
B.Tech.Engg. & Technology (Direct Entry) - Passed 10+2or its equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology subject securing at least 45% marks (40% in case for candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
B.Pharm (Direct Entry):-
(i) As per PCI Regulations-2014, a candidatemust have passed 10+2 examination conducted by the respective State/Central Government authorities recognized as equivalent to 10+2 examination by the Association of Indian University (AIU) with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology as optional subjects individually. “However, the students possessing 10+2 qualification fromnon-formal and non-class rooms based schools such as National Institute of Open Schooling, open school systems of States etc. shall not be eligible for admission to B. Pharmacy Course.
(ii) Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations. Provided that a student should complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the course.
B.Pharm (Ayurveda):-
The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized Boardwith Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
M. Tech:- Recognized Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field obtaining at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examination.
M.Pharmacy:- Recognized Bachelor in Pharmacy or equivalent degree obtaining at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examination (as per PCI Regulations-2014).
MBA - Recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examination.
MCA:- Recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduate level securing at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examination from a recognized University.

The Entrance Test for each course shall be conducted in single offline Pen and Paper Based Test) mode.
All questions shall be objective type (multiple choice questions); each question with choice of four answers.The candidate will have to choose one correct answer only.
Each correct answer fetches 2 (two) marks, while each incorrect answer has a penalty of 0.5 mark. No marks shall beawarded for questions not attempted.
While the candidate can skip a question, but should not choose more than one option as correct answer.

Note:- Candidates attempting Physics, Chemistry &Mathematics shall be eligible for B.Tech whereas candidates attempting Physics, Chemistry & Biology/ Mathematics shall be eligible for B. Pharmacy or B. Pharmacy (Ayurveda).
M. Tech:-
Duration:- 3 Hrs
Section A - Aptitude Test - 15 Qs - 30 Marks
Section B - Civil Engg./Electrical Engg./Electronics & Comm. Engg./Computer Science &Engg./Textile Engg./ Mechanical Engg. - 60 Qs - 120 Marks
Section C - Engg. Mathematics - 25 Qs - 50 Marks
Total - 100 Qs - 200 Marks
Note:- A candidate seeking admission in M.Tech is expected to appear in a paper appropriate to the discipline of his/her qualifying degree of section B above. The candidate is; however, free to choose any paper according to his/her admission plan, keeping in mind the eligibility criteria of the institutions in which he/she wishes to seek admission.
