As far as government service is concerned, the IAS (Indian Administrative Services) which is marked as a category 'A' government service is a highly special and a respected government service. The Indian Adminstrative Services is special as it works internally for the smooth functioning of law and order without any hinderance. Right from the conception of the Indian constitution, IAS as a career has been a much preferred option for the Indian youth of all-time. Even today, jobs under IAS are considered with utmost esteem. This is the prime reason why youth are attracted to career of an IAS officer. Every year lakhs of aspirants from each corner of India apply for admission into IAS.
 
However getting into IAS is not easy, infact you have to earn an IAS. The IAS 2020 exam is a paper-pen based competitive exam ie. CSE (Civil Service Examination) held every year. Directed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) this exam serves as a common aptitude test for other civil services like IFS, IPS, Group A and Group B central services. Needless to say, it is one of the toughest exams that probably requires more than one attempt to achieve success. 
 
IAS 2020 Eligibility:-  
 
Age Limits -
 
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on the 1st of August, 2020 i.e., he must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1988 and not later than 1st August, 1999. Necessary action to make corresponding changes in respective Rules/Regulations pertaining to various services is being taken separately.
 
Upper Age Relaxation -
 
i) up to a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe;
 
ii) up to a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates;
 
iii) up to a maximum of three years in the case of Defence Services Personnel, disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof;
 
iv) up to a maximum of five years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as on 1st August, 2020 and have been released.
 
Minimum Educational Qualifications - The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.
 
Candidates who have appeared at an examination the passing of which would render them educationally qualified for the Commission’s examination but have not been informed of the result as also the candidates who intend to appear at such a qualifying examination will also be eligible for admission to the Preliminary Examination.

 

 

IAS Registration / Application Form

Exam Fee - 
 
The candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs.100/- Rupees One Hundred only) [excepting SC/ST/ Female/Persons with Benchmark Disability candidates who are exempted from payment of fee] either by depositing the money in any branch of State Bank of India by cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India or by using any Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/ Debit Card.
 
Before start filling up Online Application, a candidate must have his photograph and signature duly scanned in the .jpg format in such a manner that each file should not exceed 300 KB each and must not be less than 20 KB in size for the photograph and signature.
 
The candidate should have details of one Photo ID viz. Aadhar Card/ Voter Card / PAN Card / Passport/ Driving License / Any other photo ID card issued by the State / Central Government. The details of this photo ID will have to be provided by the candidate while filling up the online application form.

This is the civil service exam which is organized by the union public service commission i.e. UPSC every year. Aspiring students who wish to take this reputed exam will have to fill the IAS Registration Form 2020. 

Requirements:-
 
• Before filling the application form, the students should have the scanned images of photo and signature.
• The photo should be taken in the professional studio.
• The scanned files should be in jpg format as per the official guidelines.
• The size of the scanned files must not exceed 40 kb.
• The minimum size of the scanned photo must be 3kb.
• The photo should be clear and crisp.
 
How to Complete?
 
• The application form will be available in the online mode and the students should know the exact procedure to complete the same.
• The students should stick to the official schedule as the application forms are required to be submitted on or before the stipulated date. Once the dates have been passed, the links will be deactivated by the official authority.
• The students are required to submit only the single application form. In the case, if the applicant submits the multiple applications then make sure that the application form with the higher registration id is exact and accurate.
• The applicants will have to make sure that they are providing the valid email id and mobile number as the commission will use only the electronic mode of communication.
• The IAS Application Form 2020 should be completed in all respects as these details will be used throughout the selection procedure.

Note - 
 
Paper II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.
 
It is mandatory for the candidate to appear in both the Papers of Civil Services (Prelim) Examination for the purpose of evaluation. Therefore a candidate will be disqualified in case he/she does not appear in both the papers of Civil Services (Prelim) Examination.

There will be negative marking for incorrect answers as detailed below:
 
i) There are four alternatives for the answers to every question. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one-third (0.33) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.
 
ii) If a candidate gives more than one answer, it will be treated as a wrong answer even if one of the given answers happen to be correct and there will be same penalty as above for that question.
 
iii) If a question is left blank i.e. no answer is given by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
