The post of Security Assistant in IB (Executive) is comparable to that of a constable in an Indian police force. This is a general central service (Group C) non-gazetted, non-ministerial post in the subsidiary intelligence services of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Government of India. Every year MHA anticipates online application for direct recruitment to this post. Selection of candidates is carried out on the basis of a common entrance test known as IB Security Assistant (Executive) Exam. This written exam test candidates' general knowledge and awareness, aptitude, reasoning, mathematical ability and knowledge of English.Individuals who clear this exam are called for a local language test followed by an interview.

Eligibility for IB Security Assistant (Executive) Exam 2018 -

 

Essential -

 
(i) Matriculation (10th class pass) or equivalent from a recognized Board of Education, and
(ii) Knowledge of any one of the local language
 
Desirable - Field experience in Intelligence work.
 
Age limit - Not exceeding 27 years
 
Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST & by 3 years for OBC candidates.
 


Paper Pattern for IB Security Assistant Exam 2018:-

 

Tier I

 

Duration - 2 hr
 
Marks - 100
 
Written Exam of Objective type MCQs, divided into 4 parts containing questions of 1 marks each on:
 
a) General Awareness - 40 questions
b) Quantitative aptitude - 20 questions
c) Logical/analytical ability - 20 questions
d) English language - 20 questions
 
Tier II (Qualifying marks-20)
 
Duration - 1 hr
 
Descriptive type:
 
a) Translation of a passage of 500 words from local language/dialect to English and vice versa -  40 Marks 
 
b) Spoken ability (to be assessed at the time of Tier-III exam (Interview/ Personality test) - 10 Marks -
 
Tier III 
 
Interview/Personality test - 50 Marks
 
There will be negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrong answer. No marks would be awarded for an un-attempted question.
 
On the basis of their performance in Tier-I exam, candidates would be shortlisted for Tier-II & Tier-III exam at 10 times the number of vacancies. 
 
Tier II examination will be of qualifying nature. Candidates would be required to obtain minimum 20/50 marks so that their marks in Tier-III could be taken into account for preparing final merit list on the basis of combined performance in Tier-I & Tier-III exam. The cut-off in Tier-II is same for candidates of all categories. There is no cut-off for Tier-III exam.
 
The final selection would be further subject to successful completion of Character & Antecedent verification followed by medical examination, etc.
 
 
How to apply for IB Security Assistant (Executive) Exam 2018:-
 

Apply ONLINE through MHA’s website (www.mha.gov.in) or NCS Portal (www.ncs.gov.in) from 20.10.2018 to 10.11.2018.

 

The candidates are required to upload their photograph & signature at the time of online registration (in a single file, the size of which should not be more than 50 KB). 
 
Exam Fee - Rs 50/- Only male candidates belonging to General and OBC category are required to pay the fee. All SC/ST, Ex-servicemen* & female candidates are exempted from payment of examination fee. 
 
Mode of Payment -
 
OFFLINE PAYMENT (Cash Deposit): The applicant will be required to take a printout of Challan form & deposit the fee in cash in any branch of State Bank of India AFTER A GAP OF ONE WORKING DAY. A counterfoil of this Challan would be given back to the candidate by the bank, indicating the transaction ID, which may be retained by the candidates.
 
ONLINE PAYMENT: The applicants having Internet Banking, ATMCum-Debit Card and Credit Card of State Bank of India, including Rupay Card or any other bank can pay the fees through ‘SBI Collect’ option. The candidates would be required to provide their registration number, date of birth, etc during the process of online payment. The fee could be paid online AFTER A GAP OF ONE WORKING DAY
