Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) Syllabus:-
Freehand drawing
This would comprise of simple drawing depicting the total object in its right form and proportion, surface texture, relative location and details of its component parts in appropriate scale. Common domestic or day-to-day life usable objects like furniture, equipment, etc., from memory.
Geometrical Drawing
Exercises in geometrical drawing containing lines, angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, polygons, circles, etc. Study of plan (top view), elevation (front or side views) of simple solid objects like prisms, cones, cylinders, cubes, splayed surface holders, etc
Three-dimensional perception
Understanding and appreciation of three-dimensional forms with building elements, colour, volume and orientation. Visualization through structuring objects in memory.
Imagination and aesthetic sensitivity
Composition exercise with given elements. Context mapping. Creativity check through innovative uncommon test with familiar objects. Sense of colour grouping or application.
Architectural awareness
General interest and awareness of famous architectural creations – both national and international, places and personalities (architects, designers, etc.) in the related domain.
Paper Pattern
IIT JEE Advanced 2020 Paper Pattern:-
The exam will be held in fully computer-based test mode.
The examination consists of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, each of three hours duration.
Paper-1 - 09:00 to 12:00 IST
Paper-2 - 14:00 to 17:00 IST
Both the papers are compulsory.
Each question paper will consist of three separate sections, viz., Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
The question papers will consist of objective type (multiple choice and numerical answer type) questions designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates.
Incorrect answers to some of the questions will be awarded negative marks. The candidates must carefully read and adhere to the detailed instructions given in the question paper.
JEE (Advanced) offers question papers in two languages: English and Hindi. Candidates have to choose the language option during the JEE (Advanced) 2016 registration.
Architecture Aptitude Test - AAT 2020 Pattern:-
Candidates desirous of joining the B. Arch. (Architecture) courses will have to PASS in the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT). Only those candidates who have qualified in JEE (Advanced) 2020 are eligible to appear in AAT in 2020.
Only those candidates who are desirous of opting for the B. Arch. program available at IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee as one of the choices while filling-in their choices online must appear in AAT.
Candidates must register online at the JEE (Advanced) online portal for AAT.
AAT will be conducted only at the seven Zonal IITs.
The test will consist of one paper of three hours duration.
The question paper for the aptitude test will be available only in English language.
