Coronavirus state-wise update in India:┬аThe coronavirus cases in India have gone up to┬а56342┬аas of May 8, 2020.┬а This includes 37916 active cases, 16539 recoveries and 1886 deaths.┬аAccording to the latest briefing by Lav Agrawal, Jt Secy, Health Ministry, a total of 3390 new COVID19 positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours and around 1273 people have recovered, taking the recovery percentage to 29.36%.┬а
Overall, 16,540 patients have been cured and 37,916 patients are under active medical supervision. The Joint Secretary further reported that no positive coronavirus cases have been detected in 216 districts of the country and no new cases were detected in 42 districts in the last 28 days.┬а
Besides this, no new COVID-19 cases have been detected in 29 districts in the last 21 days and no new cases have been detected in 36 distircts in the last 14 days and 46 districts have been coronavirus free since the last 7 days. Agrawal said that if citizens follows the required doтАЩs and donтАЩts, India may not achieve the peak in coronavirus cases.┬а
Maharashtra's coronavirus cases have risen up to 17974, which includes 3301 recoveries and 694 deaths. Gujarat with┬а7012 has the second highest number of coronavirus cases in India. Delhi has a total of 5980 confirmed coronavirus cases.┬а

Kerala flattens Coronavirus Curve?
The state of Kerala has set an example for the entire world by being one of the only few states to have successfully flattened the coronavirus outbreak curve. The state, which at one point had the highest number of COVID-19 cases, managed to control the spread and currently has just 503 cases, among whom 474 have recovered and four deaths have been reported.┬а

Almost 3.85 million people have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic across the world and 2,69,564 people have lost their lives with the maximum number of fatalities being reported from the United States. Nearly 76,537 people have succumbed to the deadly virus in the US and 1,74,697 have recovered. Overall, the United States has the highest number of coronavirus cases with 12,89,235 cases, followed by Spain that has 2,22,857 cases and then Italy, which has 2,15,858 cases. Russia with 1,87,859 cases has the fifth highest number of coronavirus cases in the world.
