National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts CSIR-UGC NET to determine the eligibility ‘for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for Lectureship/Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria laid down by UGC.

Eligibility for Joint CSIR UGC NET 2020:- 
 
Eligibility Criteria -
 
M.Sc. or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/B. Tech/B. Pharma/MBBS with at least 55% marks for General (UR)/General-EWS and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST, Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates.
 
Candidates enrolled for M.Sc or having completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying examination as on the closing date of online submission of Application Form, are also eligible to apply in the above subject under the Result Awaited (RA) category on the condition that they complete the qualifying degree with requisite percentage of marks within the validity period of two years to avail the fellowship.
 
Such candidates will have to submit the attestation form duly certified by the Head of the Department/Institute from where the candidate is appearing or has appeared. 
 
B.Sc (Hons) or equivalent degree holders or students enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD program with at least 55% marks for General (UR)/General-EWS and OBC candidates; 50% marks for SC/ST, Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates are also eligible to apply. Candidates with Bachelor’s degree will be eligible for CSIR fellowship only after getting registered/enrolled for Ph.D/Integrated Ph.D program within the validity period of two years. Candidates possessing only Bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply only for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and not for Lectureship (LS)/ Associate Professorship.
 
Specification of degrees (whether Bachelor’s or Master’s) as notified by UGC in its Gazette Notification No. F. 5-1/2013 (CPP-II) dated 5th July, 2014 and as amended from time to time, shall apply.
 
The eligibility for lectureship/ Assistant Professorship of NET qualified candidates will be subject to fulfilling the criteria laid down by UGC. Ph.D degree holders who have passed Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991 with at least 50% marks are eligible to apply for Lectureship/ Assistant Professorship only.
 
 
Upper Age limit -
 
JRF - Maximum 28 years {upper age limit may be relaxable up to 5 years in case of SC/ST/Persons with Disability(PwD)/ female applicants and 03 years in case of OBC (Non Creamy Layer) applicants}.
 
Lectureship (LS)/ Assistant Professorship - No upper age limit.

JNVST

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) is conducted for admission to class VI in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalas located across the country in 28 states and 7 union territories. This exam directed by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti aims at selecting the best students for study at JNV schools in India. At present there are 636 schools of the samiti through out the country. A maximum of 80 students are admitted in Class VI in each vidyalaya through this selection test. The exam is conducted at the start of the year while JNVST results are declared by the end of May of the year of admission. 
 
 
 
Objective of NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA SCHEME:
 
  • To provide all round quality education to talented children from rural areas. 
  •  
  • To ensure that students obtain a competency in three languages. 
  •  
  • To promote national integration. 
  •  
  • To serve as a focal point of quality education in each district of the country. 
 
Eligibility for JNVST 2020:
 
Only the candidates from the district concerned where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya has been opened are eligible to apply for admission. However, if the district where JNV is opened is bifurcated at a later date, the old boundaries of the district are considered for the purpose of eligibility for admission into JNVST, in case a new Vidyalaya is not started in the newly bifurcated district as yet.
 
A candidate seeking admission must not have been born before01-05- 2007and after 30-04-2011 (Both dates are inclusive).This will apply to candidates of all categories, including those who belong to theScheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST). In case of doubtful cases of overage in comparison to the age recorded in the certificate,they may be referred to the Medical Board for confirmation of the age. The decision of the medical board will be treated as final. 
 
A candidate appearing for the selection test must be studying in Class-V for the whole of the academic session 2019-20 in a Government/Government aided or other recognized schools or ‘ B’ certificate competency course of National Institute of Open Schooling in the same district where he/she is seeking admission. A school will be deemed recognized if it is declared so by the Government or by any other agency authorized on behalf of Government. Schools where students have obtained ‘ B’ certificate under National Institute of Open Schooling should have accreditation of NIOS. A candidate must successfully complete Class-V in the session 2019-20. Actual admission in Class-VI for the session 2020-21 will be subject to the mentioned condition.
 
Candidates passing ‘ B’ certificate competency course of National Institute of Open Schooling on or before30thSeptember 2019 arealso eligible to write admission test provided they are in the prescribed age group. The rural status of a child from National Institute of Open Schooling will be decided on the basis of a certificate to be issued by Tehsildar/District Magistrate of the District indicating that the child has been residing in rural areas for the last three years. Students studying under the above scheme and residing in urban and notified areas are not eligible for obtaining seat in rural quota.
 
Candidate who has not been promoted and admitted to Class-V before 15th September 2019 is not eligible to apply.
 
No candidate is eligible to appear in the selection test for the second time, under any circumstances.

 

 

How to get an JNVST 2020 application form ?
 
 
 
(i) The process for submission of application for JNV Selection Test has been simplified through online process. Registration can be done free of cost through the admission portal of NVS linked through www.navodaya.gov.in and www.nvsadmissionclasssix.in Verification of proofs for residence, age, eligibility etc will be done for selected candidates through the laid down procedure after the declaration of results.
 
ii) The eligible candidates have to fill up the online form and upload the certificate issued by the Head Master/Principal where the candidate is studying in class V with the photograph along with signatures of both candidate and his/her parent/guardian. The attachments should be uploaded in jpg format of the size between10-100 kb only.
 
(iii) In case of candidates from NIOS, candidates should obtain `B’ certificate and residence should be in the same district where he / she is seeking admission.
 
(iv) Online platform is in open source and free of cost. Application may be submitted from any source like desktop, laptop, mobile, tablet etc.
 
(v) In all JNVs a help desk will be available to assist the candidates/parents to upload application free of cost. Parents may also approach the help desk in JNV along with candidate and required documents such as certificate signed by the Head Master, photograph and a mobile phone with valid mobile number for receiving the registration number and password through SMS for registration process.
 
The last date to submit online application is  30th September 2019.

JNU MCA

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU's)  School of Computer and System Sciences offers programmes of instruction and research leading to degree of MCA, M.Tech.(M.Phil.) and Ph.D. For admission to Master of Computer Application (MCA) course the department directs JNU MCA Entrance Test. Every year, around ten thousand students including students from neighbouring SAARC countries appear for JNU MCA and M.Tech Entrance Test. Students are admitted solely on the basis of performance in the written test. 
 
JNU MCA course description: This three year programme is designed to provide necessary theoretical background and practical experience in Computer Science and Applications to meet the growing manpower requirements in automatic computing.
